Janey Fugate is a filmmaker based in Atlanta, GA. Bringing a journalistic approach, her work has focused on marginalized populations and humans' relationship with landscape and environment. As director of photography for a web-based series on the immigration crisis in the Northern Triangle, Janey traveled to three countries documenting stories from returned migrants. She worked as an associate producer and camera op for CLARKSTON: Mother of Exiles, a feature length documentary about refugees living in the most diverse square mile in America. She graduated from Washington & Lee University's School of Journalism with a second degree in Romance Languages. Her films have screened in several festivals.
